We are in the process of choosing our December recipient.
Our next program will be given away APRIL 2010

Over the years, I have been very blessed and fortunate both as a Medical Transcriptionist and now as an entrepreneur in the Medical Transcription training industry. Time and time again, I have received letters from people wanting so desperately to get into this profession yet not being able to afford the training cost. With the cost of Medical Transcription training skyrocketing over the last year or so, this leaves a large percentage of the population unable to afford even the least expensive training program. Because of this, I have developed our Helping Hand Scholarship Program for those less fortunate. Each year, I will be giving away three complete training courses.

~How the Program Works~

The next program will be given away APRIL 2010.
The rules are simple. All prospective applicants must meet specific qualifications in order to be considered for the scholarship as follows:

You must be able to type at least 50 to 55 wpm.
You must possess good spelling/grammar skills.
Although any type of medical background would be a plus, this is not necessary to qualify.
All applicants must be totally truthful in divulging their financial status.

How to Apply

Simply send me a typewritten letter explaining why you would like to become a Medical Transcriptionist. In doing so, please mention any work qualifications you possess that would be an asset should we choose you for the program. This should include computer skills, typing speed, English language skills, etc. This should not include any medical disabilities or personal issues other than financial, as we are choosing solely on a combination of qualifications and financial need. Please give details of your financial status. This should not only include your yearly income, but also your monthly expenses, so we can make get a precise picture of financial need. Please include Social Security numbers for yourself or any person in the household who contributes to the household income.
Each applicant will be required to supply two personal reference letters from someone you have known more than two years. Please include their name, address, email address, and phone number.

Pertinent Information Required

Please provide your full name, address, telephone number, and email address (required). Also provide any pertinent educational qualifications you may already have that would be beneficial to learning this profession such as, computer skills, medical experience, degrees, etc.

Rules

All applicants must be totally truthful with any information they provide. We do a thorough background check and do contact any references you provide. This scholarship program is only open to US residents. Age, race, sex, or religion have no pertinence. This is an equal opportunity for all. A complete course will be issued to the applicant chosen at no cost to him/her. The applicant will only be responsible for securing a transcriber unit to complete the dictation portion of the course. Chosen applicant will be given 6 months to complete the training program. Should the applicant not complete this within that time frame, the applicant will be expected to return the training program to us at his/her own expense, so that someone else will be able to benefit from this opportunity. All letters of application must be received by 4/15/2010 in order for you to be considered for the APRIL 2010 scholarship program. Any letters of application received after that time will be disqualified. You may then reapply for the next program AUGUST 2010. Only winners of the scholarship program will be notified via email or snail mail within 8 weeks from the deadline date. All other applicants will not be notified as we receive an enormous amount of applicants, which makes it impossible to contact each one personally. We ask that you refrain from contacting us with regard to the winner of the scholarship. If you are not contacted, you have not been chosen. In the event we receive a large amount of applications, it may be necessary to postpone winner announcement for four weeks longer as we take considerable time in looking over each and every application, and would like to give everyone an equal opportunity to be chosen including those that send in their application on the specific deadline date. If winner agrees, we will post the name on this page otherwise, a general announcement will be posted that the winner has been chosen.

Please mail all letters of application to:
